MERCADO ST. DOM
This project was developed within the workshop Taller Internacional de Cartagena in 2013. The topic for this 8 week workshop was Contemporary Architectural Interventions in Historical Cities.
I worked with architecture students from Spain, Mexico and Ecuador to develop a proposal for a social market in the historical center of Cartagena. The Mercado de Santo Domingo was meant as an open space for the city locals and its almost two million visitors each year. This building was proposed as a path between the Plaza Santo Domingo and the Baluarte de Santo Domingo, a big open space on top of Cartagena's surrounding wall.
