NET ZERO | 2050
These are some abstracts of my strategy and sustainability project at Ingka. Here, I formulated a data-driven predictive model to forecast emissions and associated costs, enabling informed decision-making for the company's ongoing expansion strategy. Facilitated cross-regional collaborations, improving communication and relationships between cross-regional teams and streamlining decision-making processes. And developed the strategic roadmap to achieve 50% CO²e emission reduction by 2030 and Net Zero by 2050, integrating clean construction, design, procurement, and construction operations to drive long-term sustainable growth.
However, my most valuable lessons were:
Clean Construction, Net Zero, and Climate Positive are very often used indiscriminately and with too much ease. Achieving this is HARD. However, the IKEA Family is doing a great job and I know the company will continue to improve substantially on this subject in the next years.
I still don’t completely understand the math of this, but I could see how kindness, generosity, and empathy can drive decisions to grow a business. I saw first hand how Doing Good is Good Business.
Swedish culture is underrated. The world needs to learn more about simplicity, efficiency, calmness, and the priorization of personal wellbeing while being democratic.
